About Solar Claim

We exist to help people who've been let down by pension providers, advisors, or administrators.

How We Started

Solar Claim was founded in 2018 by a group of financial services professionals who'd grown frustrated watching ordinary people struggle with pension problems that shouldn't have existed in the first place.

Our founding director, Eleanor Marsh, spent fifteen years working in pensions administration before witnessing the fallout from the British Steel pension scandal. She saw hardworking people lose hundreds of thousands of pounds because they trusted advisors who prioritised commission over their clients' futures.

What struck her most was how difficult it was for these individuals to get help. The complaints process felt deliberately opaque. Providers dragged their feet. People gave up because they didn't know where to turn or couldn't afford specialist advice.

Solar Claim was created to change that. We wanted to build a service that genuinely put pension holders first, made the claims process understandable, and pursued justice with the same tenacity we'd expect if our own retirement was at stake.

Our Approach to Claims

The pension claims landscape is littered with firms that process cases like a factory production line. Submit the complaint, wait for a response, collect the fee, move on. That approach might work for straightforward cases, but it fails when matters become complex.

We operate differently. When you bring us a case, we start by understanding not just the technical details of what went wrong, but the impact it's had on your life. A pension loss isn't just a number on a statement. It's the retirement you planned for, the security you worked towards, the peace of mind you deserved.

This understanding shapes how we build your case. We don't rely on template letters or standardised arguments. Each submission is crafted specifically for your circumstances, supported by evidence we've gathered and analysed in detail.

When providers push back, as they often do, we don't simply accept their response. We challenge weak reasoning, demand proper explanations, and escalate where appropriate. We've taken cases all the way through the ombudsman process and beyond when we believed our client deserved better.

This level of commitment requires more time and effort than a conveyor-belt approach, which is why we're selective about the cases we accept. But for the clients we work with, it makes all the difference between a cursory rejection and a just outcome.
